Photo Challenge: Closer

It's Friday! So that means it's Photo Challenge day! This week, RAZMATAZ's theme was Closer. Yay for zooming in on details! I took the camera to work to see what I could find. The photo was taken in one of the chemistry labs on campus. Though I graduated with a Chemistry degree a few years ago, I don't often get to use that knowledge at work these days. Sometimes, though, I get lucky and get to work in this lab and analyze samples. The photo is of a collection of brown chemical bottles that were out on the lab bench yesterday, empty and waiting to be refilled. I love the brown glass and the little thumb-hole handles each one has at the neck.

Have a wonderful weekend!

  1. I love it. It almost looks like a bird's face. I just love close ups. This one is great.

  2. I thought the very same thing as Raz...just like a baby bird's face. Those jars look fabulous, although as with anything as metal as that, for some reason when I look at them, they make the metal fillings in my teeth sort of stand on edge...weird huh?

  11. I was very tempted to buy a digital microscope that is made for kids recently - you just plug it into your computor and it shows on the screen. Could be useful for this challenge...

  12. Hi Charlotte
I understand your fascination with these bottles.. glass of any sort always fascinates me... Many years back my neighbour and friend worked at the local university.. she is a genetic engineer... I spent many a weekend in the lab with her setting up her experiments and loved it.. which is strange as I didn't have the same fascination at school.. Have a great week and thanks for popping over my way.. xx Julie
